Medicines Management for CQC
This session will illustrate effective medicines management in general practice. We will highlight the requirement to conform to relevant legislation and guidance, and clarify the key points to ensure that medicines management is safe and effective.
Rathai Thevananth, BSc Hons is an experienced CQC compliance consultant with a strong background in compliance and extensive experience in primary care. She has successfully conducted numerous CQC inspections to date, providing valuable insights and sharing best practice to enhance healthcare services. Rathai is also a dedicated multi-professional educator, with a proven track record of training and mentoring healthcare staff to achieve excellence in primary care and compliance.
This stream aims to help GPs understand the critical aspects of CQC compliance, medicines management, preparing for CQC inspections. The individual sessions will cover key elements of understanding CQC compliance requirements and practical tips on how to achieve compliance, the importance of preparing effectively for CQC inspections, creating a culture of improvement, medicines management and CQC expectations, managing controlled drugs, monitoring and auditing for compliance, engaging and training the team, patient centered care and involvement and being a ‘Well-Led’ practice.
